Galápagos with kids

Family-friendly Galápagos cruises

Small ships and guiding that operators have flagged as suited to traveling with kids.

Common questions

What age works for a Galápagos cruise with children?

Most operators welcome children from around 6 and up, and some departures set their own minimum age. Younger children do best on shorter itineraries with beach landings; teenagers handle the full week easily. Check each departure page for the ship’s policy, or ask the operator directly.

Will my kids get seasick?

Crossings between islands mostly happen at night, and daytime sailing is usually short. Catamarans and larger ships ride more steadily than small monohulls. If motion is a worry, pick a departure on a catamaran and pack children’s motion-sickness tablets — guides deal with this every week.

Are there family cabins?

Many small ships offer connecting cabins, triples, or quads, but they are limited — often one or two per ship. That is the strongest reason to inquire early: family cabin space sells out before the rest of the boat.

Ready when you are

Travel that helps keep the Galápagos wild

The cruises here sail small ships that follow national-park rules on every landing. See how a trip supports conservation, or give directly to the science that protects the islands.
