The Galápagos mockingbird is the most widespread of the four mockingbird species found only in the Galápagos. It is a long-tailed, long-legged bird with a slim, downcurved bill and inquisitive behavior around visitors. It feeds opportunistically on insects, seeds, eggs, and carrion. Six island subspecies are recognized.
