The Galápagos land iguana is a large yellowish lizard that lives in the drier lowlands and feeds mainly on cactus pads and fruit. It is endemic to the Galápagos and listed as vulnerable by the IUCN. Populations were devastated by feral animals but have recovered through repatriation programs. Adults form a mutualistic relationship with the prickly pear cactus.

Present year-round in arid and transition zones.
